Help please! i cant get my grill off

I want to change my grill to a single headlight grill instead of the four headlights. Im trying to change just the middle section but i cant get it off.
I think you just pull off the little clips but im scared they will brake.
Can anyone help?

depends on the grill, you might need to poke the middles out of the clips first

If you do break them I have some spare ones if they're the same clips…should be.  But I'm sure they'll be ok if you push them from the back

My grill was held in by screws I think, it was ages ago I took the standard grill off tho.

from memory, un do the two screws one to the far left and one to far right hand side of the grill, then you need to just push down the two locator clips which raise to lock grill in place toward the middle of the grill, (above the badge ), all being well the grill then comes away from front panel

If they are the rectangle blocks then you need to push out  the centre peg. before the block will pull free , the peg usually drops down onto the front panel never to be seen again , but no panic you can still buy the clips from vw for a few pence , suggest buying clips first just to give you an idea how they work ,

Nice pics.  BBS kits can be hit or miss but looks good in that colour!  You get a GTI badge sorted? Also need yourself a black VW badge to finish it all off
