Headrest Help

Post

Hi all, I've just found this forum in trying to find my answer for my question, ive had a bit of a look through hoping to work it out for myself, but I'm a bit confused and could do with some expert help.

Basically to cut a long story short, I'm using some headrests that are MK1 VW Golf headrests in another project and I would like to order some covers for them from a company called TMI. TMI do three different style covers for what they call the rabbit, which i understand is what the golf is sold as in the US. This page here is probably the best way to see the three styles which they refer to as H1, H2 and H3 : http://www.tmiproducts.com/volkswagen/docs/rabbit/upholnos.pdf

these are the headrests that I am looking to cover: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-MK1-PAIR-OF-HEADRESTS-/190807151795?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c6cfe14b3

there is another pic of them here if this angle helps out? : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLF-MK1-GTI-CAMPAIGN-BLACK-HEADREST-X-2-/140903400204?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+I&hash=item20ce7f430c

My thinking so far is that from the years of the Mk1 golf, it must be H1 or H2, to me it doesn't look at all like the H1, which would lead me to think that it is a H2, also i found out from such research on here that around 1980 there was a change to the MK1 headrests, leading me to think that there probably headrests from something like 80 - 84 which would put them in the H2 style?

any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Tom

Personally looking at the pictures on their website I would say the H2. Your best bet though to be on the safe side would be to e-mail them with the pictures of the ones you want covers for and let them decide which ones fit.
