headlights... are they the same as a mk2?

ive just bought a single lamp grill and want to get a new set of headlights, i was wandering if they are the same as a mk2 as a few people selling them on ebay advertise them as mk1/mk2 ??

i tried to fit some to my 83 cab but they would not fit, mine had a circular fixing plate on the back and the mk2 ones had a squareish one hth

the actual glass is the same, just as above the base plate differs. sometimes you can swap the mk2 lamps onto mk1 back plates, it helps if the lamps are the same make.

thanks for that. I saw some mk1 lights pictured with a square plate and some without and mk2 lights with square plates so wandered if they were the same,
