haynes manual

my god. I've just replaced a front wing. Bolt on, easy you might think. The Haynes manual says the three bolts on the main body of the car are "not easily accessible" Jesus I've got bruises all  over my arms! I couldn't remove the inner wing cover because the screws were all rusty so forced part of it back and had to feel for the nuts which were covered in underseal (nice one VW but a pain to work with) and chip it away bit by bit until I could manage to fit a wrench onto them. Then it took ages and loads of pain until I managed to free them up.Thanks Haynes manual, you were really spot on, and a load of help!!!!!! Anyone else had this pain and suffering?

Been there done that !

i feel for you mate, them nuts covered in the rubbery underseal are a right beast, ended up with the old kasabien blowtorch on em and yep did the bending wing back thing too :? , there must be an easier way of taking em off?!?
