Hammerite on radiator cowling, yes or no ?
I was going to buy a refurbed gti radiator cowling from crazy quiffs but they have none in stock, so has anyone refurbed their own cowlings.
If you have what is the best way to do it ?
I was going to wire brush it and hammerite it but don't know how rough the finish will look ?
Ta for any help

It will give you a good finish too, I have personally used hammerite on radiator cowls. I mean, you can use it on an engine blocks and it's fine with the heat! I painted my old lump with hammerite black, 12 months later when I sold it it was still spot on!

I will decide what to do soon but after taking the car out for a spin today, there is something wrong with the engine, stuttering, no acceleration and smells of petrol with no leaks, so better get it looked at before doing the cooling system change
This is when I wish I was mechanically minded
Think I will change my new ht leads back to the old ones first as it ran better before I changed them :dontknow:
Then off to local garage next Thursday

\'Check Your Nuts!\' My partner has just been through an operation and chemotherapy for Testicular Cancer and is only 29. He had no lump or pain, just became swollen… If in doubt, get to the doctor!

I cleaned my far cowling using a flap wheel and wire wheel. I painted it using hamerite smooth. Note the smooth. In a spray can. It looks perfect. Is recommend 100%.

Thanks D
I have also found a local powdercoaters, so when I take the cowling of next weekend I will give the hammerite a go first and if the result is not good enough ( my skill ) I might try them
