gti plastic archs.

I have owned my mk1 for about a year and a half and never really thought about this but should mk1 gti plastic archs be bonded on the the wing/wheel arch ot should they be screwed on. Mine have a load of gunk behind and just wondered if its normal...

my front covers were bonded on, it's a bit crap as you can't see whats under them. I got them off in the end though.

they should screw on really, but it the fit is slopy you could use a little bit of flexie bond stuff.

I took mine off today as one was flapping about after a little too much lowering on (old) big wheels had caught the underside.

Mine were pop riveted on but the rears had a weird black rubber glue holding them on as well.

Not sure if this is standard as mine had been the victim of some pritty dodgy diy mechanics in the past it would seem!
