grill attachment???

been a while since i posted on here and the golf still not running after an engine change, so i decided start the body work,the grilll ha been off for ages and wasnt really screwed in right in the 1st place so my question is what type of screw do or should i use to but the grill back on,sorry for sounding the thick but we all gotta start somewhere ha ha

The headlamp surrounds are screwed in (2 each), just try some different ones til you get a good match. The main grille would originally (and ideally) use those black push clips along the top (they're the black ones in this set : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK1-GTI-TRIM-CLIP-SET-C16_W0QQitemZ220560874114QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item335a73da82)
I think the same black push clips are used to hold the chin spoiler on too! Although that's easier to improvise with bolts and washers 'cos it's hidden.
