Genuine Cabby rear window seals?

Post

I am about to have a new mohair roof fitted on my cabby, and would like to get the rear window seal changed at the same time (it currently leaks).

Does anyone supply genuine rear window seals, or do I have to use the one Heritage currently supply?

Many thanks in advance :)

Are you sure the seal is duff?

The usual suspects are the sealant on the glass between itself and the seal goes crusty.
Also the seal between the hood and also the window opening haven't had sealant applied.
I know the water sits on the lower glass and seal junction.

I would inspect the seal but make sure the fitter applies sealant to the window opening he cuts in the hood, also when the window is in place mask off the joint where the rubber lip of the seal meets the material of the hood. Apply silicone under the seal and all round and clean up remove tape.
I have come across a few of these when no silicone is applied.

I would take the glass out the seal and clean up the crusty stuff off the glass, clean the seal then apply silicone into the seal slot etc and clean up.

Watch out for the rear frame also as these expand when rusty deforming the seal too.

Thanks for the replies.

I have now had the Heritage seal fitted with the new hood, and so far no leaks despite this hideous weather :).

Chortle - I am not sure how the fitter did the rear screen and seal, but he has a very good reputation locally so hopefully its all good..
