Fitting electric windows to my mk1 cabby
Hi there
I have managed to source a set of genuine electric window mech, motors, switches and loom to fit to my mk1 GTI cabby.
The question I have is , how easy is it to fit them?
Ie to fit the mechenisms to the glass etc.
I've searched for a guide but to no success.
So if anyone can help advise me please

Mechs to the glass/door - dead easy.
Wiring - a different story! (unless the stuff you bought has wiring/plugs still intact!)

If you've bought enough of the parts including the wiring looms and switches, it shouldn't be too hard except that you'll need to be patient and it will take a while. The original wiring might be routed neatly behind the dashboard, which means you'd need to remove the dash to install into the same place. Might be possible to simply run it in front of certain fittings and cable-tie it in, to save time/effort but it won't look as good.
