Fitting ?A? Pillar trims/wind deflectors

Hi, does anyone know how to fit Mk1 Golf ?A? Pillar trims/wind deflectors?
By what I can make out, the one edge locates in to the rain gutter while the other edge fits under the windshield seal.
Is this right and if so is there an easy way of lifting the windshield seal?

That's right, you have to kinda lift the seal at the op and slide it under then clip it on. The first one will be a pain but the second will just slide in.

You've just got to get the angle and technique right.

Just fitted them now. Tried for ages. In the end I used a shoelace, I found it so much easier.

They make a huge difference on the motorway!
