etch primer
A bit of advice needed .I had a wee fire in the engine bay and the paint on my bonnet has lifted .so i'm gonna respray it .do I need to use etch primer or i've seen epoxy primer which seemingly doesn't absorb moisture like etch primer cos i'm gonna be taking it back to bare metal.I have 2k primer there and respirator and a fairly decent compresser and gun .

etch primer is generally only used on non ferrous metals and then only a fine coat

yes straight on with 2 pack. Usually its either wet on wet or leave min 24 hours before a second coat. You should get a data sheet with the details on and get a good face mask !!!
