droped drivers door

:dontknow:  i dont no a lot about cars so i dunno why i staring with a gof mk1 but i like a chalange and willing to give it a got, done cnc eng for 2 yrs and give up.   :(  but any way, need help my drivesr door has droped how can i fix this problem  :dontknow:  im  :banghead: about it.

first golf mk1 im 20yrs old the car is older than me,
golf c 1.1 x plate

This has been covered before by previous posts. You can use the search facility to find them.

What I did to sort mine out was to just open the door slightly and then lift the car up by the door a bit! This will pull the door up into the right position if you do it enough but no too much!

it could also be something else. My mk1 has a rotton lower door hinge which was a real pain to sort out and weld back in place. check all of your hinges closley to male sure you don't have the same problem.

Sticking a washer inside the top hinge helped straighten out both of my doors.  What a difference it made.  Best 10 minute job I have had on the car so far.  Why can't anything else be this simple?

Undo the top hinge bolt (get a mate to hold the back of the door).
Place a washer inbetween the two hinge plates and put the bolt back.

The washer spaces the hinges slightly, lifting the door into place.
Did mine years ago and was the easiest, cheapest and one of the most rewarding jobs I have done on the car!
