Double light to single conversion, Help please!

Got my new grille for single headlamps, can you advise now what other bits do i need to complete the job? Do I need new Lamps or can the existing ones be converted, and what about wiring? Thanks guys!

Hey,
Is yours a Clipper cabby?…cos I recently changed my double clipper grill to the single crome trim one and everything went fine. At first I thought it was going to be a hassle thinking that the full beam was simply in the inner lights, but it isn't and full-beam is still brilliant without the inner lights. This may be a bit unprofessional but I've simply got my inner bulbs etc taped up and safely out the way. You can put the single grill straight on, if its the finer single grill off a tintop like mine is don't over tighten the top screws as thats the only thing holding it on and you don't want to put them under stress etc. Hope that has helped, bit long winded…but basically you can put it straight on and be cruisin' in 20mins or less!! ;-)
Cheers Julia ;-)

MOT ??

Thanks for your advice Julia. Mine is a helios blue clipper cab 1990 too, on brock deep dish alloys. Have you had the car MOT'd since though? Concerned whether it will still pass. Will check everything you said!
Thanks again. Lee.

Yep had it MOT'd end of June and it passed with the single grill on, as long as all the lights work..and full beam is still great without the extra lights-honest! ;-) Oh yeh don't handle the bulbs too much either…etc etc!! :-)
Cheers
Julia

You can just disconnect and remove the centre lights - they are not your full beam… Tape up the end of the connector just to prevent moisture and dust from getting in.

The outer headlights are the same as the single light cars and are all you need for your MOT…

As long as dipped, normal and full beam are fully operational and at the right height/level (which they are anyway without the inner lights) etc it will pass, the inner lights are simply extra full-beam lights. Cheers Julia
