Doors not shutting properly

Does anyone else know why, when I shut my doors they do not shut forst time, second time or actually sometimes the 3rd time???

When I open the window, they shut perfectly!!!

Is this a common fault problem with Tin Tops??????????

Mine do it too bud, i wind the window down as well.

Tried adding washers in the hinge to line the door up better but that didn't work.

Also tried just giving the door a good hard yank upwards to align but still no luck.

I live with it.

Can anyone else help???

hi, try the search section, theres quite a few old threads on the subject. the plastic wearing away on the door striker pin can be a problem.

Yep. That's usually the problem if the doors are lined up properly. Bit of heatshrink will do the trick.

or if you are feeling flush new striker pins should still be available from VW.
