I just used grey gaffer tape… My car is silver though. Can't see the tap once door cards on. I hadn't realised how much use the membrane was. Since I fitted it I have noticed the amount of water that collects behind it. Definitley a great thing to fit to stop your car getting wet!

I just got some pvc sheeting from wickes. Thicker than the original. Works a treat for me.

I use poly sheet from B+Q or the stuff new sofas and beds are delivered in is ideal :D  Just tape it on with gaffer tape, works and no one can see it when the door card is replaced.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

my original membrane was missing , so i  taped a plastic sheet using duct tape ! i sealed it all the way round but is there ment to be gaps at the bottom for water to run free ? is there any detailed pictures or guides about ?

cheers

I have mine sealed on the top and sides and I cut the sheeting a bit longer on the bottom so that it tucks inside the metal of the door. If you try to tape it to the outside at the bottom you may well get moisture running into the cabin of the car rather than the bottom of the door as should happen.
