Door Handle Differences

Hi,

Does anybody know the difference between cabrio exterior door handles and tin top handles? If there is a difference that is! My drivers door wont lock, thinking it needs a new handle but some places I have looked list the handles but says excluding cabrio….just wondered why?

cab handles are the same as later mk1 handles, and mk2. also polo, scirocco etc all use same type handles. not sure if early mk1s have different handles, im thinking they do. early chrome mk1 polo/audi etc use diffo handles too

ok, so I have found out what the difference is now. The handles themselves are the same, its just the v shaped lock driver on the back of the barrel that is different. The cabrio lock driver is thinner and longer than the other type. Having ordered a handle apparently for a cabrio, it came with the wrong type driver, when fitted still no luck! So have had to modifly the old driver…annoying but now I know!
