DASHBOARD PLEASE HELP

So today I removed the dashboard since I have a new one. When i removed it , the engine wont start. Is this because since I disconnected all the wires from the dash and steering etc, or it can be an electrical short or something? thanks

…and another question , carelessly I sprayed a dashboard , now the spray might crack in the sun, does 'dashboard silicone spray' solves the problem ? thanks

it should still start even without the dash fitted, maybe you knocked some wires. if its the early fusebox the plugs have no clips so easy to pull them out the back. check ign switch plug is still fitted too
