Corrado Seats

I've been offered a pair of front corrado seats with the frames on them, will they go straight into a '91 clipper? they're out of a 16v model, not recaros??

Happy Days! Been looking for some nice seats for a while without the hassle of messing about, the seats in my clipper are ok, but it feels like you're sitting on them more than in them, my m8s got a gti cabrio and the seats are much better, sit lower and hold you in on the bends. hopefully these corrado seats will be just as good!  

Corrado seats are a straight swap you say?  Bonus!  There's always an answer on here,  love it.

Are there any other straight swap seats you can think of, MKII Golf ones for example?

yeah and mk2 golf. since clipper is newer than 84 it has MK2 Golf seat runners

rear seat is another matter tho, pretty much only seat that will fit is cabby as its narrow and has the big strengthening bar under it

Rado seats can be made to fit and MK2 rear bench fabric can be used to cover a MK1 Cabby bench as well. Seen them both done many times and they look good too!

what about mk3 gti seats (not recaros)? will they fit straight in??

no, you either chop one of the legs off and reweld it further in, or swap the seat base for a 90spec MK2 one.

The corrado rear bench takes significant modification to get it in, I know this becasue I had one to try in my cabby. becasue there is a massive strengthening bar at the base of the rear seats, the rado upright sits far too high. so you have to chop a fefty amount out of the bottom of it to get it to sit low enough, then retrim it.

Just picked up the corrado seats, a pair of front seats and the rear bench…. £40!

well happy with tha, thought i was only having the front seats. gotta have a go at getting the back bench in as well, be rude not to!!  

yeah would look well good with the rear bench in, I had a look and just gave up on the idea as too much work, got mesen a nice late spec cab interior instead
