Complete body refitting

Hello everyone,
I've found a 92 golf diesel tdi without the turbo, it runs great but looks terrible, I can get it for under $1000.00, my other 92 1.8 gas golf was just written off and I can now get the entire thing for parts around $500.00 here is my question:
The golf I have for parts does not have a spec of rust on it, and it's also got a manual sunroof, is it possible to swap every panel between the two?  I'm especially wondering about the entire roof.  They're both the tornado red colour.
any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first post.

Ps: how are the convertibles in winter? Too cold, can anything be done?

Bit confused? You want to swap good panels onto an accident-damaged and written off car? Nope, not every panel bolts on-off, notably the sills, rear quarter, roof (!!!), etc. The doors, front wings, bumpers, hatchback, bonnet does though.

Also 92 Diesel TDI - this is a Mk1 Golf site, 1992 suggests Mk3.

Also we're a UK site - why give prices in $? Are you US, Canadian, Australian, etc etc….?

Ok it wasnt the 1992 but the Diesel TDI which makes me think its not a cabby. VW never did diesel cabbys.

If its a 1992 cabby to 1992 cabby it should be possible to swap parts over, however I'm still confused which shell is the good one (sounds like the written off one??) and which parts you want to swap from one to the other, etc.

Cabbys are probably a little better in winter than hatchbacks, since the hood insulates a bit more.
