Coco Chanel Gti

I have a 1986 Gti Cabrio "Coco Chanel".  On the rear offside quarter there is a "CC" motif together with two sets of parallel lines.  This motif does not exist on the nearside; the car must have had a rear end bump at sometime in its past.  I've found someone who can make up a new motif for me, but I've been told that there should be a a pair of parallel line across the boot lid, to match the lower motif on the rear quarters.  Is this information correct?  It would seem to make sense to link up the two sets of motifs in this way.  Can anyone help please?  Paul.
