clutch problems

have just bought a mk2 golf to play with and need to change the clutch.
is it a difficult job to do or should i just take it to a garage as have never changed one before.

This site is for MK1's  :mrgreen: but gearboxes are similar , read a Haynes manual , if it seems easy after you have read it go for it . If not a clutch change at your local garage may be the best route .
