clipper hood rear tension rod

Hi all, my hood's pretty good on my old clipper but recently the rear tension rod ( I think? the metal bar holding the back of the hood to the car body?) has given up the ghost and split. Now the roof is not held on at the back at all. I'm new to this forum but I would like to fix it. Is it a D-I-Y job? It looks a bit tricky. Any help appreciated. :?
