Cleaning internal roof lining
Hi has anyone come across a decent product that they can recommend to take the grime out of my white internal vinyl roof on my golf GT Karman soft top
thanks

I started on mine the other day with cream cleaner like jif and a tooth brush after trying many different products and thinking it looked good only to leave it for a bit and still notice grime. You need to sponge the residue off after and give it a good rub with some vinyl spray after to shine it up a bit (I used Auto glym vinyl and rubber care). Takes some time and gave me neck ache lol but really looks like new, just got the front section to finish now.

Finished off the front now, took me about an hour today. Really does look good and beats all other methods and products i've used before and at a fraction of the cost.

Doktor power from JML.
Swarfega doesn't drip on you.
Cillit bang, flash etc.
Use an old towel as this will help absorb the dirt as you wipe off.
Sometimes there are just un cleanable to an acceptable standard and replacement is the way forward.

I tried all other products but the tooth brush method seems the only way to get all that ground in dirt in the groves out.

I did mine at the weekend using a product called Brisk extra, its available from auto smart. I think its available in aerosol form. Just spray on and wipe with a cloth...bit of elbow grease needed but very effective! Does all the interior trim too!

Glad you found the tip usefull Dave. Just an update on it use some cream cleaner on a sponge first which will loosen up and clear most of the dirt then it makes it a bit easier when it comes to a toothbrush or fine brush.

i used a product called G101 when i worked in a valet shed. the product is from auto smart i think.
very strong stuff we used it to clean floors etc. but if you dilluted it to 1 to 3 its fine for roof linings.
I did my land rover after a heavy smoker for years. the roof was pretty much black and an hour later it was new.
wipe in on and then wipe it off like Mr. miaggie.
sorted.

here you go its eaiser to find.
type G101 into ebay and you will find as much as you want starting at around £5.50.
they recommed dilluting 10 to 1, i would start at this and work down for tough stains.
this stuff is brilliant but be carefull its strong and can damage if not used properly.
