Cleaning a Cabby hood cover

Has anybody put their hood cover into the washing machine to get it clean?

Although mine is pretty clean out the outside, the inside that touches the roof lining when the cover is down is quite grubby and is beginning to leave marks on the clean headlining.

If you have washed it in the machine what temperature did you use? Or has anyone got an alternative solution to the machine?

Thanks, Dan

Thanks. I'd read that this morning…very informative but having used the old 'Cif' method of doing the outher skin I'm struggling with the interior. Its a kind of cloth materialwhich is quite soft so I wondered if anyone had tried the lazy machine option.

I'm just worried about damaging the cover with hot temperatures.

Don't be lazy……..use upholstry cleaner (1001 or similar), a brush, sponge, a bit of water and a lot of elbow grease.
Ours have come up a treat.

Yeah…I sppose it is worth doing properly but BabyDub is quite a time consuming project on her own!!

Rather than the money saving idea of the old McD's advert..I was after a labour saving idea from you all!

Cheers Dan The Scrub.
