Centre Consoles

Hi,

I'm after some info if poss, i'm a new member and bought a MK1 GTI Cab last week people may have seen me broken down on the M1 JCT 12-13 on thursday!! Not the best start to me owning a Classic.  :banghead:

Anyway i need to know if a centre console from a MK1 hardtop will fit straight into my cab. (i am a total novice so this may be a stupid question)
I also need to know why my power hood isn t working i can get it to move about eight inches then it stops, obviously i have power to it but can anyone give me some ideas what is wrong.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The tin top centre console should fit no probs.

Your hydraulic system probably needs filling up with the special oil - get it from VW

Errrr?. I bow to Rich?s superior knowledge   but the Fischer C-Boxes are different between soft and hard tops, hence the recess in the console must be different . I found out by buying the wrong one on ebay :banghead: , I think it was an honest mistake on the sellers part as I?d also assumed that the centre consoles would be the same. The console may be interchangeable  :dontknow: between hard and softtops but they are different!

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Mmmm - Early you might be right - I did a check on ETKA and they had the same part number.  I think it might be the case they are interchangeable but the real cab one is different - certainly is for the later cab with the hydraulic roof and lecky windows.

Lynchy - let us know how you get on  8)
