If you need to ask you should not be attempting.

Talk to your local paint factor, tell them what equipment/facilities you have and ask for their advice. Unless you have a unit with either proper air extraction, or away from residential areas, you shouldn't be using 2k.

I was going to diy paint my golf and did loads of research on the subject. I came to the conclusion that if I was going to do it myself I'd need to spend a good few hundred quid on kit - you need a decent compressor with dry air, gun, and then paint. Unless you invest in a breathing mask as well then as Paul says cellulose is all you should be using - and it's a bit more forgiving for a newbie apparently.
In the end I decided it wasn't worth it - what ever I would be able to do, a pro would be 10x better, and unless you already have all the kit - it won't cost you much more.
My focus has instead been on prepping the car as best I can ready for a pro to paint. Preparation is key in a good final finish and this is where a large chunk of the cost is when you take a car in for painting.
