Can anyone recomend a outdoor car cover?

Hi, ive just brought my mk1 golf that Ive spent the last 4 months searching for.  Its been garaged for most of its life by the condition of the car, however my mk2 is in the garage so It will have to stay outside.  I have a car cover from Halfords but i had one on my new polo and it left tiny marks in the paint, and being a black car its going to show.  Ive just typed in car covers in google and there are loads of people selling "the best" car cover.  I just want to know has any body else got a car cover, is it any good, does it protect the paint and where did they get it from???

Any help would be realy usefull

Thanks, Joe :)

Most car covers are designed to be used for only one to two days… otherwise… like the one on your polo, dirt, tiny stone flakes etc get under the cover and the movement scrapes the paint.

There are covers from ?30 up to ?100 odd.  If you want to store it outside for long periods of time then there may be other options available to you but I'm not sure.

I have mine in my next door neighbours garage so it's dry and wind proof.  I'm going to be using a cover in that environment but think this may not be suitable out in the elements for you… maybe there are car marques or similar… have you tried a google search for alternative solutions?

The car is going to be used to go to work and back which is not far.  I just want to keep the rain, wind etc of it while at work and in the evenings, especialy with the bad weather coming up.  Storing it at a neighbours is a good idea, looks like i'll be washing a few more cars then

I just want to know if anyone has got a fitted out-door car cover, where did they get it from and are they happy with it??

thanks

Mate Lawsy "Steve" mentioned something about a padded tailorred one he had.  He's our top man when it comes to getting discounts and I think he mentions about trying it with these.  I wanted something similar to you one my thread so have a quick read on here:-

Hopefully someone can help you with actual recommendations.  I'll try a google search to see what's out there mate.

Just saw this but no idea what it's like.. or the type of material that would be touching the paintwork:-
