Newbie
replacing cabrio seats with non vw
Hi everyone,
Im new to this, I recently got a 1986 1.6 cabrio that runs pretty well but the seats are knackered and second hand cabrio seats look expensive (around 150-200) and not much better than mine.
I had a look on ebay and found quite a few really smart leather seata for about 100 the pair but wonder if they would fit. Im guessing it would be easire to remove the old rails and bolt or weld in new ones?
Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing?
thanks alot, Hugh in south London

anything can be made to fit it just depends how handy you are with a welder!
you'll probably want to start with scirocco or corrado bases though as they sit lower. once you have welded your std bases to the bottom of the new seats they'll probably end up a bit too high
