Cabrio Rear screen surround

JHave just noticed rust on the parcel shelf, on closer inspection the back windscreen surround is absolutely knackered beyond repair, although it don't seem to leak from the outside.

Anybody know where to get these from and if VW still supply the rubber.

Cheers in advance guys.

Thats now giving me nightmares mate, at least I know I can source the parts from GPC if I can't find a good second hand one. But bloody hell a bit pricey will wait until it starts leaking then worry a bit more.

What was it like to refit any tips, possible to do myself etc etc. Cheers

I honestly believe that you should fit a new frame and seal, and put plenty of coats of Hamerite on the metal part of the frame. Fitting second hand frames may be difficult, and unless you fit a new outer skin at the same time it will never be right. Sorry, but that's life! At least you would know that it's good for a good 10 years at least.

Well will coat it up, but hood looks pretty new to be honest so don't really want to replace that as well. How difficult is the frame to fit??? Any tips.

?50 for a frame sounds good to me mate. How much did you pay for the hood with fitting. Also you got a web address on these car hood people they seem like they know where to source frames from.

Have emailed GPC about seal and frame so will let you know when they get back to me.

Similar to ours, wonder if it's part of the same company - our guy said he travelled all over.
Worth every penny though, don't you agree??
Don't forget to tell your insurance - mohair was non standard I believe…….
