Cabrio Mirrors

Were Left Side Passenger mirrors  on the Cabriolet convex on the UK models?  In Germany, the Right side passenger mirror is convex and I wish to mount a convex mirror on the Left (Driver's) side.  The Handler in Kaiserslautern said he is no longer able to order British parts.
If the mirrors were convex, how easy are they to get?

I've never seen one to be honest and don't think they were fitted on any UK Mk1.

Apparently there was a convex mirror available on the remote controlled ones, left outer mirror was availble for both left and right hand drive cars.
The left hand drive one though was for the Japanese market and available on the Jetta GLI.

I really need to go back to work.
