Cabrio door gaps
Hi Guys
I have an issue with the doors where the a frame meets the windscreen. the gap on the door increase from the hinges up to the roof to the point where you can stick an index finger in! from the right angle you can even see daylight where the door windscreen and roof meet! i'm sure thats not right. i think this may in turn be affecting the seal for the glass against the roof seal.
I have thought about trying to push it to bend it back but worry about breaking the glass in the a frame. does anyone have a good suggestion to solve this?
Cheers

open the roof half way, and look in the gap. theres an excentric ajustible buffer thingy which adjusts the fit of the roof over the roll bar. you need to crack off a bolt on the back then you can spin the adjuster with a spanner. see the mk1 roof faq guide theres good pics/info in there

Hi
Many thanks for the reply. i'll keep that in mind if im still having prolems meeting the roof. however i may not have explained clearly that the main issue is with the door at the front end. not sure if this is a case of new doors are best but please take a look at the pic taken from inside with the door shut. this gap i think is too large and allows a bit of water through when its raining. the door seal looks fine but i think is not sealing properly.
hope the link below works. still new at this!
again, any help/advise is much appreciated.

so what do people think about this? looks to me like door is bent and some bodge artist has removed the upper seal and fitted it further out to compensate?

this being my first mk1 i'm not exactly sure what i'm looking at, but i would agree that the top of the door may be bent out. is there a safe way to bend it back without ruining the door or smashing the quarterlight?
hope this link works, added some pics of the car from the outside. perhaps you guys can see better the issue with the door or roof seals. got the same problem on passeger side!
