cabby seals

I am looking for some help with my cabby!!

I am now looking to get it back on the road and will shortly be putting it through it's mot, however, lately it has been out in the rain and seems to leak quite a bit from the area around the handle to release the roof.

there is a foam seal which runs across the top of the windscreen…

but should this stop short the way this one does or should it continue along some more??

Also there appears to be a bit of foam stuck in the rubber at the top of the door.
here

Should this be here if so i guess it shouldn't be so shabby

Also the trim at the bottom of the windows does not go to the ends?? i guess this aint right?

Does anyone know part numbers for these and also the best place to get them other than ebay??

On another note has anyone seen this on a cabby before???

On both sides!!  Am i right in thinking this was for some sort of roof rack and if so can you still get them??

Any help would be appreciated

The header seal at the top of the windscreen looks ok to me.

I'd take out the foam from the door seals. The flap on the seal where the foam is should touch the window.

New seals for the bottom of the windows can be had from VW or from
 www.gpcvwaudi.com

Those are indeed brackets for a roof rack. I doubt they are still available though.
Cabriolait on here has one…

Forgot to add…

The leaks by the handles are often caused by either hoods that are knackered and have shrunk away exposing too much of the seals on the frame or quite comonly because this gasket is missing…

The foam gasket sits under the side seal braket and is often not replaced when a new hood is fitted. Instead silicone if often used and it doesn't seem to do the same job.

Check out the hood replacement guide I did and it should help you replace the gasket if it's missing and give you more info.

I notice the front of your hood is curled up quite a bit an thats probably exposing the seals more than they should be.

Also it doesn't matter too much about the gap in the seals at the back of the rear side windows, water that enters will drain out through drain holes in the sills.

Cheers,

Ross
