Bumpers back to black?

The black plastic bumpers on my mk1 have faded really badly, there almost white, has any one got any suggestions of what I could use to get them back to black?
Also does anyone know where I could source some black sill trims for a 5 door mk1?

heat gun mate just dont leave it to long if your by the paint best to take the bumpers of , i tryed it , did work then when they were  black i put a bit of back to black on them for a shine

apparantly peanut butter.
i prefer simoniz back to black or autoglym bumper restorer

put either on and leave for 10 mins then buff off. works great for mine but doesn't last more than 2 months then they start going white again.
doesn't matter what you do, if you don't keep the polished they will fade again.

Ash Do you know how, why, this works, with the heat gun?

I found pea nut oil works but is messy, Doubt that I could use peanut butter though Novacaine, I love it too much on sarnies to be fair. I have cleaned, degreased and matt black spray painted before with good results, just dont load the paint on too thick, or it can cover up detail and best to do the bits off the car to avoid overspray.

Ive used liquid shoe polish and works a treat on the grill etc.
MAy take 2/3 trys initially and then just top up twice a year.

some one said try a heat gun to me so i did and it worked well you could see the diffrents between the two ?

when i had my mk1 jetta i removed the bumpers rubbed down and painted them wth satin black.
this way they won't fade.
works a treat.
