Bumper Paint

The guy spraying my Cabby is having an "issue" with the back bumper.  Does anyone know if some parts of the clipper kit were covered in something "almost like vinyl" ?  It would appear the rear bumper has some sort of vinyl type film …..  That's why the car is not ready this weekend, they don't want to spray over this "filmy" stuff and are stripping the bumper right back to plastic ….

Theres nothing to my knowledge on the bumpers the only thing i can think of is if it has been painted before and the lacquer has not adhered to the bumper and started to peel off. Is the chap a professional painter or just a mate doing you a favour? But make sure if he is taking it back to bare plastic to treat the bumper with a clear plastic primer before he applies the main primer or the paint will not stick properly and will flake off.Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave, went to see it last night, and what you have said is exactly what they have done.  Mind you, there does appear to have been quite a "few" coats of paint on that back bumper !!
