As long as the bonnet is clean, dry & dust free before fitting then there wont be a problem.
I run one in my old mk4 for 3 years everyday without a problem.
Just took it off some mornings, quick wipe over of the area with a speed detailer and refit.
Bonnet was swirl free and 100% even after 3 years.
Follow instructions and you will be ok, dont follow them and they will mark

wish i never bothered may look nice on but not worth the re-spray i now need,
i sold it on here a few week back did warn him as well

Vw sell them for newer cars and in the manual in HUGE letters it sais they must NOT be left on the car for more than 24 hours at a time without the bonnet being washed and dried.
