Bleeding convertible roof pump?????

The leccy roof on my Cab has been out of action since i bought it, as the previous owner had removed the pump and rams out of it when i bought it!

Anyway, i filled it up with VAG fluid on sat and it took a while to get going to to air in the system.  It now works but there is still air in the system, so is there a method to bleed the system?

The pump is supposed to be self bleeding , fill to the filler level plug and operate a few times to expell any air and all should be okay . Is the pump  fitted correctly ? What problem are you having with it that makes you think its air in the system , i would be asking why the last owner took it all off the car ? This may give you a lead on the problem you have now …

The pump was taken off along with the cherry red roof to be sold separately, along with the leather interior and all the rest of the good bits!!

The reason I think there is air in the pump, is it can be ever so slightly jerky, and I can see the bubbles in the pump reservoir.

It may be the case I need to use the roof for a bit and it will bleed itself if it is self bleeding as you state
