Black side strips fitting

I bought a set of 8 of the black stripes that go down both sides of my '83 mk1 . Has anyone fitted them, are they relatively easy.

It looks a bit of a fiddly job to me, one that you must finish once you've started kind  :)

Any tips would be handy,

Nick..

Go to VAG and get a complete set of new plastic clips, drill or push out the centres of the old ones, pop in the new ones, lay the strips at an angle on top of the clips and push down on the bottom of the strips. They should make a loud noise as they snap into place. If you re-use the old clips you might find the strips just popping off on their own.

8 Strips? Or does that include the the long ones at the bottom on the cills? Not wooken up yet !!!!

There would be 8 side strips on a 5-door, or Nick could be including the sill strips.

Which is it, Nick?

The upper strips are really easy to fit, just get the clips and holes lined up well so you don't get too much overhang at the front wings.
The lower sills fit the same don't they?

Willpop down to the dealers and get some new clips too, they will come in handy if one or two snap.
