right so iv just got a black golf and wondering if the paint has a special code, or is it effectively any black gloss?

i dont know your code but i do know that it isn't as easy as black gloss

The code comes up as LO41 called Schwarz black

Ive got a 1985 GTi Cabby in Montego Black, it's more of a metalic paint.

It's the original colour taken from the paint code when I had it resprayed during the resto.

Standard extra black from the paint supplier…no extra tints…

there should be a sticker on the inside of the boot, between the back lights. should give you the paint code.

I would guess EW is right and it should be LO41

I'm looking to treat mine to a respray but have no idea of the costs involved.

I suspect it may not be straigt forward as I have a rust patch on the tailgate (on the boot lip) and a couple on the rear arches. I don't suppose anyone could recomend anyone for body work in the Hampshire area?
