Recently done this……first things first…..you really wanna get the tailgate off. This is a bit of a pain in the back side itself, but just make sure you use  some string to  make it easy to pull the cables and washer pipe back through.

Next up, glass out! I used about 15 old table knives out my mum's kitchen draw, and essentially worked my way round prising the glass out, leaving each knife in as you go. If you do it right, the glass will just "pop" out.

Next, heat gun to remove the old decal. Trust me, this is pain staking, but it needs to be done. Then use some intensive tar remove to remove all traces of the glue/decal.

As for fitting, its pretty simple in comparison!! lol. basically soapy water in a bucket, and sponge it onto the tailgate. Next up, remove the backing of the vinyl sticker and lay it into place. You've then got a little while to move it around/finalise position. Then use a cedit card or similar to push out the air/water bubbles. This takes a while…but it does work, trust me!!

The order for applying the decals is: Lower, Sides, Top. This is done for the same reason as overlapping roof tiles, water droplets drain down and  over the decal joints.

Once done, allow this to fully dry out, then its time  to replace the glass. Use a piece of cord or thick string, along with plenty of washing up liquid as lube, and "pull"  the window seal back over the tailgate lip.

Job Done!
