i did mine over christmas an its easy as pie
get a carpet set off newton commercial and its pre moulded, pre cut an its a perfect fit, not cheep at ?140 but the ammount of time it save fussing around cutting and glueing its 100% worth every penny
the only tricky parts is the side bits under the dash but other than that its simple

thats what i would suggest tho

hope this helps

no glue required just takes time. start by removing the rear carpet.
1 take front seats out. this is done by undoing the bolt under the front of the seat removing the rail covers from the rear and slide the seat back as far as it will go.
2. take the handbrake cowl off the handbrake.
3. remove the plastic slides under the rear seat by removing the screw at the front.
4. remove the door sill plates these clip over the lip so you need to pry them off. now the rear carpet should come out just watch for the small taks holding down round the edges.

as for the front
1. remove the centre console 1 screw at the rear on the passanger side. 2 screws to the dash and one behind the gear stick. remove the gear knob which is just screwed on.
2. remove the door sill plates if you havn't already (you have to remove these for the rear aswell)
3. there are a few press on clips under the dash i think theres 3 one either side and one behind the centre consule.
4. slip the side bits of carpet in the footwells away from the main carpet which are taked to together.

now remove the carpet same thing again watch for the taks around the edge.

now in true haynes fashion fitting is the reverse.

hope that helps.

:o( my carpet didnt fit properly (never has done since i had the car) so decided to take it out and invest in a new carpet as it was very dirty and not fit for anything, after a good vac and scrub it has come up imaculate so its gone back into the car and looks brand new so very chuffed for not having to pay ?140 for a new set, however, the carpet still doesnt seam to fit properly, it comes away at the doors and no matter what i try to keep it in place it still comes away

can anyone suggest a way of getting it to stay?
or why it would no longer stop in place?

There are grippers, which look like little staples or nails, along the door opening edges on the inner sill. If these are no longer present, then probably best to glue it into place.

grippers are still present under the sill and also decided to self tap  the carpet in 2areas to ensure a good fit, however the carpet still come out and cant get a good fit still

means the carpets been out before and not fitted properly so has changed shape a bit. does it only do it on one side if so it means your centre molding is not dead centre. if on both it means its distorted in the middle. you can get round this by using blue peter double sided tape but it wont last forever. check your carpet is in right.
