Yeah, the compressor that supplying the mask needs to be away from the fumes.
Ideally you would use 2 seperate compressors, I think you would be ok using one compressor as long as it was outside the spraying area.
Air fed masks do use a lot of air and can 'rob' the gun a bit, and thats a good reason for an 2nd compressor as well.
You can buy/hire(I think) battery operated ones that go on your waist to save on the 2nd compressor.

Bit expensive though, although you could flog it in on fleabay afterwards and get most of your dough back, or buy one off fleabay.

Been thinking about this……… :dontknow:
What about an MDF box around the compressor and then use 3 or 4" duct pipe to feed in clear air from outside.
Then, use some more wood or mdf to make a panel that will go under a partly open garage door and cut a hole in it allow the vent pipe to pass through.
(does it make sense??)

Whereabouts are you planning to spray the car and why is it impossible to site the compressor outside of the area with the fumes?

Mask
Machine mart mask works fine, I run two 14cfm compressors and that's ok for me. Put them both outside away from the dust and fumes.

i would just wheel the compressor outside while you're spray
having the compressor in the unit all you will be doing is feeding fumes straight into you face and could end in death!
if you are going to do you it you might as well save the money and have no mask!
Thats it then dont want to die so might put compressor on the roof LOL . im spraying this car one way or anther thanks for takeing the time mate.

So here is the next thing i need help with which mask should i buy and filter . Any one out there with pros and cons on masks I would be grateful before i buy . I m looking for a mid range price as it is my life on the line , Thanks all
