adjustable hood?

Anyone know if the hood brackets are adjustable on cabby's?   When I close mine, and clip the two handles back, there are two small gaps where the hood doesnt quite meet the rubber seal. This isnt a very good description i know, but I havent got round to gettin a new hood yet, and this is the only problem with it really as it lets a hell of a lot of water in!

I've tried sealing it but it didnt work. The hood has been badly bodged, and i just wondered if there was a short term solution while i save up for a new hood.   :dontknow:

Do you mean this bracket…..

If so, loosen off the locknut (arrowed).  Turn the hooked part either clockwise to tighten seal or anti clockwise to loosen.  When you're happy tighten locknut, job done.

Duct tape it is then   sounds like your hoods really shrunk or badly aligned, is the frame bent possibly? if it is a new one wont be any better fit :?

You say it doesn't quite meet the rubber seals properly - are you sure the seals are right? Maybe they need replacing, or aren't fitted properly?

 :dontknow:

By the way, be careful that you don't tighten the hooks on the handles so much that you can't release the handle - happened to me and we had to remove the handle to sort it!!!!

The handles can snap if you try to force them, and they're expensive to replace!

Im not sure whats wrong with it. Maybe a combination of them all? I know that whoever fitted the hood did a poor job of it. Its the same on both sides, so i dont think its the frame.

Best start savin my pocket money….looks like its gonna be expensive!

might be worth having a look at at another cabby as a comparison, could be in need of a new seal.

Post some pictures up so we can get a good idea of the problem and can compare it to our own.
