They had an extra bracket assembly welded to the suspension turrets and the seat belt reels mounted to these behind the back seat. I have never seen them available in this country.
I have managed to fit a 3 point belt in one side at the back for use with a child seat. I used a universal type made by Securon and it is mounted through the metalwork next to the parcel shelf……very tight fit, only just about managed to get it in the space left when the hood is down.
Can't seem to fit it in the space on the other side of the car though, cos the adjuster on the belt reel gets in the way!!
I've just put up with having one 3 point for the child seat and my older kid uses the lap belt the other side!!

3 point rear seat belts
I've also tried to source these additional US parts without any success on either side of the pond.
Has anyone slightly north of the M25 had any success in fitting rear 3 point belts?

Is there anybody out there North of England or anywhere in Scotland with a successful 3 point rear point story?

They are apparently listed as " reinforcements for 3 point seat belt rear".
The bad news is the price being quoted from Volkswagen US is $542 for each part, which is is hardly cost effective given the value of the cr (and before the parts are shipped over and fitted over here).
Now that I have part numbers, I've contacted VW UK and VW Germany (the local dealer can't help because these aren't UK part references).
If anybody else has any idea about how these parts could be sourced, I think there are a number of interested people on the forum who would be intererested in finding our where tey can be found - just little cheaper than $542 - ouch!

check this link out. read down the forum and scroll down to the pics plus there is a full list of all the components + diagrams photos etc.
These have to be welded into position apparently, so it sounds like a big job.
Could you get anyone with an engineering mind, armed with the info I have linked you to manufacture the parts? I guess you would need the thicknesses and dimensions of the parts, what with water jet and cnc technology is there anyone out there that could oblige?

Re: 3 point rear seatbelts
I bolted the the centre rear strap to the floor in the boot. The new harness then passes over the back of the rear seat (in between the gap in the parcel shelf and rear seat). The left and right fixing straps fit by undoing the the existing standard seatbelts, placing the new harness over the bolts and doing the the bolts back up again. So my daughter is held safely in her chair by this harness and if feeling extra wary I put the normal lap belt on her as well. To top it off she is really pleased as she thinks she is a "Lewis Hamilton". Let me know if you need pictures

I needed a 3 point seatbelt in the back of my clipper as I needed to get my 3 year old daughter in the rear in a forward facing child seat (the type of child seat that doesn't have its own straps). After getting quoted silly prices ?200.00+ to have a seatbelt fitted I bought a securon racing harness for circa 40.00.

Pics would be great, thanks. This maybe a good solution.

This info has just made my weekend after spending days going round shops trying to find car seats that work with lap seat belts that are safe( not many available)
