wont start at all ?

my gti wont fire at all off the key now,i have been having loads of poroblems with this since i got it but its now got to the stage it wont start at all unless you give it a quick squirt of easystart it fires straight up and keeps running untill you switch it back off,its the only way to get it started :(
i have tried 3 metering heads on it and the last one was from a running car so i think i can rule that out.
new fuel pump fitted,new injectors,new warm up reg,new coil,new dizzy cap etc,new relay,tank drained cleaned,new fuel filter.

i dont know what else to try and i cant afford to keep throwing money at it.

anyone else had these symptoms and managed to fix it ?

starts and runs o.k. with some quicl start? sounds like it's probably a little lean and the 5th injector is not working. i have one if you're local.

Yep.

If warm start only

First thing would be to measure system pressure during starting. What basically happens is the battery is turning the engine, the voltage drops, this makes the fuel pump pump at lower pressure and its possible not to produce enough pressure to open the injectors.

If cold start

Check the 5th injector and thermo time switch, loads of info on this on the forum (search should reveal).

thanks for the answers

Whether it's hot or cold it won't start without the squirt of the easy start

Look at both problems then. If the cold start valve works, it should squirt in enough fuel to start the car with, even if system pressure didn't open the main injectors. (Won't run for long tho!)

Ok will check cold injector
What would cause the voltage drop ?

Poor battery; poor wiring to fuel pump, ie anything from the condition of the wire, connectors, fuse, etc.
