Which 2L block?

Hi im currently rebuilding the engine for my mk1 its a k jet 1.8 blueprint.
Has had some headwork but i am now thinking of replacing the bottom end with a 2L can someone tell me which 2L engine type will fit the k jet head? Will i need to change anything else or is it a straight forward swap?

Also i was only told my engine is a blueprint by the previous owner is there anyway of telling? The block is blue and the pistons have codes stamped into them but i cant see any difference on the cranks etc.

Out of curiosity, why swap the bottom end at all - it could be easier to either stick with a 1.8, or do a whole 2.0 litre conversion - Paul_c's 9A build thread may be helpful.

For the blueprinting, you could weigh each piston and each conrod, and see if they're the same weight (i.e. piston 1 = piston 2, 3, 4, and conrod 1 = conrod 2,3,4). This would give you an idea of whether it's been fine tuned or not.

Not sure what else to suggest really - have you had it running? Would it rev freely higher than standard (6500rpm +)?

Hi Rich no not heard it running yet, there was small play between the pistons and barrells so i figured while im at this stage i could swap the bottom end, as the heads been done it would be good to use it.
