Whats the difference between water flanges??

1 has an extra port going down

Hi, im a tit, i over tightened the cast flange on the front of the head and cracked it :( i have another 1 from a diff engine but it doesnt have the pipe coming    from the bottom that goes into the t piece rubber hose between the pump and the metal pipe. My q's r 1- can i use the other flange and a diff rubber hose and what is the diff? Q2- where do i get the o ring from?  image.jpg

GSF sell the rubber O ring. The one on the left is from a car with an water feed oil cooler I guess the one on the right is from a car with an air feed oil cooler.

Not sure what you mean about the pumping but the one on the right should fit like this, do you have a picture of what yours is like?

Ah now i can c whats what. I changed from water cooled to air cooled years ago an have just plugged the 2 pipes together :( its the 1 on the right that i broke. Ill need to have a look to c if i have the correct rubber tube to go from the pump to the pipe , cool cheers for that :)  image.jpg

My Mk1 Scirocco has no oil cooler fitted and that has a straight bit of hose from the water pump to the metal water pipe which runs around the engine then you can use the other flange and get rid of the other 2 water hoses for the water feed oil cooler.

You can get the later flange but I think you have to order one from Germany?
I think some one on here bought one a few months ago?
