What oil pressure should I have please?

Hey all,

I was watching my gauges today and when my oil temp is at about 95 degrees C my oil pressure runs at about 50 psi (3.4 bar) at 2000 rpm..

When cold my oil pressure is up around the 70-80 psi mark

Does this sound right to anyone? I'm not sure what it should be running at

Oh forgot to mention, it's an '83 1.8 GTi

sounds right to me. Mine on start is at about 5 bar, and then drop sto about 2/3 when warmed up.

yep mine exactly the same

That is good news Thanks for the replies

especially as it appears that my head gasket is leaking (again) from the back of the block
