what oil and filter?

I'm 500 miles in since my full rebuild and need to carry out an oil and filter change. Any anyone tell me what viscosity and type/brand of filter I need to get?

champion or mann oil filter.

15-40 or 10-40 never sure for gti's

I always use VW oil filters (thought they ahs a supperior design to pattern ones :dontknow: ) and VW approved Quantum 15w/40.

def. go with mann or an OEM filter. i prefer Mobil1 fully synthetic 15w50

never use Fram brand filter, even if they are free!
