What engine will fit ?

Hi guys im not having no luck getting my engine running so im thinking of  dropping a different engine in. What i want to know what engines will just drop into the car without needing new mounts welding in ?

the new engine won't run either - the fault will probably lie with the fuelling or ignition, not the engine itself.

Yeah i know when i fit a new engine in i want the full loom too as the one thats in it has been chopped to death and parts have been bypassed

It will be a nightmare trying to get it working then! I'd be tempted to properly evaluate what you have there. It might well be that a new engine is required. Is there another thread describing the issues you're facing?
