what cambelt for a 1.8v gti engine running a 2.0l audi 80 bo

Just bought a mk1 gti.  Giving it a tidy up and refresh and want to change the cambelt. Its got a 1.8 gti 8v head fitted to a 2.0l audi 80 bottom end, just wondering what cambelt i need.  I'm new so don't flame me.

match the belt to the bottom end, but you need to know what code it is!

take old one to a motor factors shop theyll match 1 up 4 ya

I believe the Audi 80 used the 3A 2.0L 8v, don't think any 8v 2.0L other was installed in them. If so it is the same as most 1.8L 8v VW engines, 056 109 119A.

the later Audi 80s got the ABK code engine which is the Audi equivilant to the Volkswagen 2E 2.0 tallblock engine. in this case the belt would be: 037 109 119 C

If its 3A then use an original GTI belt,
